There is no clever arithmetic in laser hair removal pricing, which is exactly why so many quotes surprise people: the session figure on a menu is a sixth to an eighth of what the clinic expects you to spend, and nothing on the menu says so. The calculation
Course price equals the per session figure multiplied by the expected session count. Package saving equals that figure minus the published package price. Annual maintenance equals the post course single session price multiplied by how many top-ups a year you expect. Total first year equals the course price or package price, plus any maintenance inside that year. That is the whole model. Everything else clinics tell you about pricing sits inside one of those four numbers, and any quote that will not supply all four has not been fully given to you. Write them down before you compare two clinics, because a clinic with the lower session figure and a higher expected session count can be more expensive.
Worked from published figures
Take Skinography's published under arms figure of $25 per session. At six sessions the course is $150 and at eight it is $200. Take its full legs figure of $145 for women. At six sessions the course is $870 and at eight it is $1,160. Take Bluepoint's published Medium Areas band of $150 per treatment, which its menu names as covering Brazilian. At six sessions the course is $900 and at eight it is $1,200. Now the comparison that matters. Underarms plus full legs at Skinography is $170 a session, so a six session course is $1,020. Bluepoint's bands would put underarms in Small Areas at $125 and full legs in X-Large at $250, which is $375 a session and $2,250 over six. Same two areas, same course length, and a difference of over a thousand dollars driven entirely by how the two menus are cut.
What the calculation cannot tell you
It cannot tell you how many sessions you personally will need, because that depends on your hair and skin and on the device, and only the clinic examining you can say. Treat any session count as the clinic's estimate and ask what happens if it takes more, because some packages cover extra sessions and some do not. It also cannot tell you whether the treatment is right for you at all.
